Thielsen Architects Staff

David G. Thielsen, AIA

President and Principal Architect

Dave has practiced architecture in the Pacific Northwest for more than 37 years. His experience since graduating from the University of Idaho includes public, commercial, and custom residential architecture. For the past 32 years, Dave has focused on designing custom homes and residential architecture. Prior to entering the architectural profession, Dave worked as a carpenter and a construction manager. This background, in conjunction with his drive for design excellence, gives Dave a unique view of architecture and the profession.

In 1991, Dave established Thielsen Architects as a service oriented design firm. Dave's responsibilities in the firm include project programming, project design, and overseeing the firm's Project Managers. In addition to his professional commitments, Dave has assisted with the education of future designers by teaching interior design courses and actively mentoring intern architects.

Dave resides in Kirkland with his family, where he is active in youth sports, youth activities, and community committees.

Robert Connor, RA

Project Architect

A lifelong Washingtonian, Robert grew up on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands located in the Northwest corner of the state. A childhood spent in this idyllic setting helped foster his commitment to environmental stewardship. After graduating from the University of Washington in 1997 with degrees in Architecture and Community and Environmental Planning he joined Thielsen Architects where he has worked for 25 years. His interest in environmental planning and restoration has lead to an interest in complex sites containing environmentally sensitive and critical areas. A registered architect, Robert’s responsibilities with the firm include project management and information systems management. Robert brings 3D computer visualization skills to the team.

Away from the office, Robert can be found enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest on his backcountry skis, in his mountaineering boots, and from the seat of his bicycle.
